Lets talk about hair!

Updated: May 29, 2024

As we are coming out of winter it is time that we focus on the journey towards healthier hair. It's easy to forget the significance of hair wellness in todays hectic world given how quickly things are changing. By devoting a small amount of time and energy to maintain our hair, we can improve not just our appearance but also our health. My purpose in putting together this in depth guide is to present you proven methods and useful advice to help you discover the key to beautiful, healthy hair.

Hair wellness is influenced by a range of factors, such as lifestyle choices, hair care routines, and diet. We can greatly enhance the look of our hair by being aware of all of these components and diving deep into your hair journey.

One of the biggest key factors to growing and maintaining thick hair is nutrition. Just like the rest of our body, hair needs certain nutrients to prevent problems like breakage, dryness, and dullness and this can all be avoided by taking vitamins, minerals, and proteins. If you are taking your first steps I would suggest finding a supplement that is biotin infused to take daily. Including foods that are high in nutrients, such as leafy greens, salmon, nuts, and seeds can help maintain the health of your hair.

Sustaining hair wellness is mostly dependent on your hair care routine. Now you may be thinking, a hair care routine sounds like so much work; however, its actually a great way to have an excuse for a self-care night. The number one mistake women make when taking care of their hair is washing it too often. The magic number to washing your hair is twice a week, but if you're crazy like me you may only wash it once. Clean, hydrated, and moisturized hair can still be achieved as long as you are occasionally treating it with a deep conditioner treatment.

A hair oil treatment is a great addition to your routine because it is done once a week and boosts hair growth on the scalp. The Mielle Organics Rosemery Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil has been my recent find and I have noticed a change in thickness to my hair. Now that you have your pre-shower routine down, let's talk about some products that will save your hair post-wash. A leave-in conditioner is the biggest benefit that leads to hydrated hair. However, you wont achieve hydrated hair if you are not using a heat protectant. This product will protect your hair from any hot tool that you use until your next wash. If you follow all of these steps you will see results to thicker, silkier, and healthier hair.

Our lifestyle choices have a huge influence on not just our body but our hair as well. Stress, sleep deprivation, and heavy alcohol use are some of the factors that can lead to issues like hair loss and thinning. Maintaining a balanced lifestyle that prioritizes sleep and discourages stress can greatly enhance your hair wellness.

Staying aware of your environmental changes is important because something just as little as a different water system can diminish all of the progress you made on your hair journey! Hard water can be very hard on your hair (funny how that works). It took me years to understand why all of my hard work got ruined in just a few weeks by a new shower head. To solve this problem, people have been purchasing filtered shower heads for their showers so that hard water does not affect their hair journeys. I have not tried this tactic however I am going to indulge because of the progress I have seen on so many.

Achieving the best possible hair wellness necessities come down to nutrition, hair care routines, and your lifestyle choices. You can discover the key to luscious locks and take pleasure in healthier hair for years to come by putting the techniques described in this guide into practice. It is important to keep in mind that enhancing hair wellness takes patience and does not happen over night. Cheers to your hair journey!
